The star spirit however was finally beginning to stir, pushing against Ronce slightly as it started to wake up, his eyes fluttering open as he tried to sit up shakily on the now vibrating ground.

Henoch continued hopping through the air, stopping to catch his breath. "This... is no work for an ocean spirit," he said in a hoarse voice, holding up a hand to establish another barrier.

Ronce shifted to her anthro form, helping Leger sit up, lighting a flame to warm the room some and light things up around her and the young star spirit, keeping a lookout while staying close to and protecting Leger.

Leger eventually managed to stand up to about four feet or so, his frame frail and even showing the bones beneath his scales at some parts. His eyes were wide but glazed, and his stance was highly unstable, his legs struggling just to keep his body up. The tremors passing through the ground certainly didn't help this either, causing him to eventually fall back to his knees and hands.

Henoch finally finished establishing the last barrier, before an intense shockwave passed through the village, knocking him to his back. Try for several seconds to refocus, he gradually managed to sit back up, to find what appeared to be something of a shadow-ey shape, jumping between the complexes. Not wasting any time, Henoch jumped back to his feet as his body started to glow, his system starting to excite the magic present in itself.

Ronce helped slow Leger's fall, catching him and imparting a smaller amount of energy to him, not enough to tire her, but hopefully enough to help the star spirit some.  "Just what is causing this..."  she questioned softly, staying protectively close to Leger.

Henoch started sliding through the dirt turning to mud beneath him, water drawing faintly from the air around him. The shape continued to dive between the various complexes, before pausing as Henoch caught up. As he tried to look at it though, he winced in pain. Occasionally he would catch a flash of impossible anatomy, looking more like a parody of a living creature, but most of the form it seemed like his brain just didn't want to look at.

"Where is it?" the shape said in a raspy voice, the sound of lips smacking together in hunger sounding off, making Henoch nauseous for a second. "What are you doing here?" Henoch demanded, trying to take charge of the situation. "There's something delicious smelling here. Where are you keeping it?" it asked, that horrible sound playing off again.

Ronce held leger close, the sharp sound reaching her ears, causing them to flick back in annoyance and pain.  She would just pet Leger softly, making smaller flames throughout the room, keeping watchful of everything.

"I don't know what you're talking about. Leave this place, these people have done nothing wrong," Henoch said. Technically that was true. He didn't know whether or not it was looking for Leger. "Then I will find it myself," it said, bringing a massive fist up and slamming it against a roof. Henoch tried to stop it, but shuddered and stopped, dropping to his knees the second the fist hit. He started coughing into his hands, which he drew away to find.... "Blood?" Henoch darted his eyes several times, trying to think of what caused it, before his eyes wandered back to the damage the spirit monster had done. His contract was being breached.

(mind posting something that would involve my character's proximity or priority or otherwise move the story along?)

((Sure))

Leger very slowly managed to make his way to the entrance, keeping his head up and eyes forward, as if in a trance. Looking outside, Paramonos stood panting at the entryway. "You.... you have to help. There's... this creature attacking. Henoch can't fight it off. He's dying," he said, an edge of panic in his voice. Leger simply stared at him blank faced, as if he didn't understand. Paramonos, being very old, could barely stand at this point, the attack to the village putting much stress on his system.

The elder stood back up and moved into the settlement past Leger to face Ronce. "P...please. It's beginning to burn our homes," he said, pointing out the window to a column of smoke signaling the area. "I've already started evacuating, but Henoch..." his voice trailed off again, tears starting to trail down his face. Being the one who made the contract, he felt responsible for Henoch's wellbeing.

Ronce looked up in surprise, then looked to Leger, moving around in front of the dragon, petting the top of it's head once.  "I'll be back... stay safe and keep hidden, okay?"  She said softly, hugging close to it once before turning around, running out the door, pulling her bow out from the hyperdimensional space around her, fires following her. "Pramonos, stay with Leger, I'll be back."  She said as she passed him, looking around for the nearest enemy, tails twitching in irritation.

((Blaargh! Heheh, sorry. Busy few days))

Henoch rolled out of the way of another attack that hit another construct behind him, causing him to pause and start coughing up more blood. "This.... this is no way to.... win," he stammered, wobbling on his legs a bit. The creature was still jumping across each construct, the villagers fleeing in the other direction for the caves.

Leger looked very slowly up at the sky, taking raspy breaths in as he looked up at the different stars, closing his eyes, oblivious to the chaos happening on the other side of the village.

Paramonos was about to insist leading her to the monster, but a decently sized crash nearby didn't leave much of a point to that. Henoch, bloody and bruised, rolled from the wreckage, the monster landing nearby and looking like it was about to take another swipe at the spirit.

But then it hesitated. Stopping short, it began sniffing the air, very slowly turning its gaze in Leger's direction, a hungry expression starting to form on its face as saliva, glowing orange, started dripping from its maw.

Paramonos rushed to Leger's side and tried to pull him away, the star spirit still unresponsive to the situation.
